Shear is a geometric data augmentation operation. It misaligns and shifts an image along one coordinate axis while fixing the other, producing a trapezoidal distortion effect, and adjusts bounding boxes and segmentation labels synchronously. It simulates perspective distortion in real scenes and improves the model's ability to recognize non-orthogonal objects.
